How do you pronounce Mercury Telluride Powder HgTe Produced?
The following is the preparation method for mercury selenide:
1. The HgTe precipitate is obtained by dropping a dilute HgCl2 solution into a saturated H2Se aqueous solution under the condition of an isolated air. Please note that excessive HgCl2 and high concentrations of HgCl2 solutions should be avoided, as they will result in HgCl2*2HgTe.
2. Then, after the mixture is filtered, SO2 Gas is introduced. The solution should be kept alkaline to prevent the precipitation of red selenium. The decrease in SO2 absorption rate can be used as a measure of the reaction’s endpoint. After the reaction, black HgTe is filtered, then washed using a dilute NaCl with ammonia solution, washed and dried in a P2O5 dryer.
3. In a vessel under high pressure, Hg and se are combined according to a stoichiometric formula. The reaction occurs at temperatures between 550-600°C. The product is then sublimated in a pure N2 flow at 600 650 and purified.

Applications Mercury Telluride Powder HgTe :
As a semimetallic, it is used for the production of solar cells and thin-film transistors. It can also be used to make infrared detectors or ultrasonic amplifiers. The material is also used for the production of analytical reagents and high-resolution Hall Effect films.
As a photocatalyst, Hg selenide degraded organic dye contaminants. The organic dye pollutants were irradiated using visible light. HgTe, a photocatalyst, was then used to photocatalyze degradation.
Selenide mercury can be used to replace mercury in high pressure discharge lamps. It is non-toxic and chemically stable.
Mercury selenide may also contain metal halides or other chemical components. It is possible to reduce the amount of liquid mercury used in high-intensity lamps. Also, because HgTe has a long shelf life, it is unlikely that any mercury will leak out if the lamp breaks.

Mercury Telluride (HgTe) Powder Storage Condition
Mercury telluride should not be exposed to the air. It is important that the powder be kept in a dry and cool room. HgTe Powder should not be exposed to stress.
